Kansas Purple Star School Recognition Program

The Kansas Purple Star School Recognition Program was approved by the Kansas State Board of Education in October 2022 to be awarded to military-friendly school districts across the state.

The Fort Leavenworth School District was one of only three public school districts in Kansas recognized by the State Board of Education in April 2023 for its dedication to serving military families and ensuring their students receive consistent, high-quality support.

In March 2026, the district was awarded recertification as a Kansas Purple Star School District, reaffirming its ongoing commitment to military-connected students and their families.
