The main goal was to give students a chance to see if they wanted to be involved in the First Lego League (FLL) by modeling problems similar to past First Lego League activities. The students work together as groups of 3 & 4 with a NXT Lego Robotic kit. Students plan and problem solve as they work through the activities.First Lego League introduces young people to the fun and excitement of science and technology.  In the First Lego League students do all the work.  They program robots using the Lego Mindstorms robotics set to score points on a thematic playing surface creating innovative solutions to a problem all while being guided by the First Lego League core values.  These three elements: the Robot Game, Project and the First Lego League core values make up what we call our yearly challenge.  If you enjoy science, technology, robotics and problem solving, this group is for you.  Join Mr. Kobza’s group, the First Lego League.  


  • TEAM Building: Introduction of First Lego League competition and team assignments. Introduction to Lego software and hardware.

  • Weekly Meetings: First 2 meeting were spent building a basic robot. Following meetings students were assigned problems to program and solve.
