Welcome to the Fort Leavenworth Schools!  Whether you are new to USD 207 or are returning, we know that it is a time of excitement and energy as we begin each school year. 
 
It is an honor for us to be able to work with your children on a daily basis and we know that there will be many, many activities and learning opportunities throughout the next year. 
 
As you may know, Kansas, along with forty-two states, plus the District of Columbia, four territories, and the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) have adopted the Common Core State Standards.  The standards will help ensure that military students are receiving a high quality education consistently, from school to school and state to state, as preparation for future success at work or in higher education.  The standards are designed to provide a set of rigorous shared goals for the knowledge and skills that help all students.  For our military-connected children, the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards are a dramatic shift from an education experience that has traditionally been a patchwork of various standards and expectations as they move from one state to another.  Students will not be caught off guard when they move, as they will have specific skills and knowledge so that they are prepared for college or employment.

  These sites can provide you with additional knowledge and resources as you learn more about the Kansas College and Career Ready Standards.  Additionally, we will be scheduling parent meetings in September that will provide information on the KCCRS as well.
