Director of Technology Services
As a veteran of the school district since 1990, I have served in various roles, including second grade teacher at Bradley Elementary, third grade teacher at MacArthur Elementary, 21st Century Science Classroom teacher at MacArthur and as the district’s Educational Dome Theater Instructor, based at Bradley Elementary.
I have seen the evolution of educational technology in the Fort Leavenworth District. In 1991 I helped develop and lead some of the first professional development courses for word processing called ‘Computers 101.’ The idea was to help teachers do their jobs more effectively. That’s still our goal today. We try to help teachers use technology not for technology’s sake, but show them how it can transform the classroom and learning experience for students. Students are digital natives who we need to teach to be digital citizens.
