Overview

USD 207 TEAMS Labs focus on the Next Generation Science Standards along with STEM education. Kindergarten-6th grade attend the lab once a week where students receive a hands-on approach with lessons focusing in the following six areas:  Inquiry, Life Science, Physical Science, Earth and Space Science, Engineering, and an Energy unit across all grade levels.  The following sections share some of the standards, lesson objectives, and resources used by educators in the TEAMS Labs.  All grade levels experience inquiry lessons at the beginning of the year to learn about the scientific method and process and pique their interest in their lab experiences.  The three science areas, Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth and Space Science, are taught in the order listed.  Engineering lessons are spread throughout the year and intertwined with science lessons, The school-wide energy unit is taught towards the end of the year around Earth Day in April.
